How do percale and sateen differ?

They are different weaves. Cotton percale feels crisp and has a matte finish. Cotton sateen feels smoother with a subtle sheen. Choose the feel you enjoy; thread count alone does not determine quality.

What if I feel warm at night?

Cotton percale and TENCEL™ Lyocell are useful starting points if you prefer breathable bedding. Your duvet, room temperature and personal preferences also affect comfort.

How do I choose a size?

Measure your duvet, pillows and mattress and compare them with our Size Guide. For fitted sheets, include mattress depth and any topper.

What is included in each set?

Check the selected product and set description. Included sheets and pillowcases can vary by size or collection. Duvet and pillow inserts are sold separately unless expressly included.

Will the colour match the photograph?

We aim for accurate images, although screens and lighting vary. You may carefully inspect products before deciding to keep them. Retain packaging and avoid washing or use until you decide.

Orders and delivery

How can I pay?

Payment options are shown at checkout. Where instalments are available, the provider determines eligibility and terms.

Can I change my order?

Email us promptly with your order number. We will help where possible, although preparation or dispatch may already have started. Statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.

Can I send a gift?

Yes, where gift options are offered. Enter the recipient’s address and add your message. Prices are left out of gift parcels; confirmations go to the purchaser.

What does delivery cost?

Standard delivery under £80 is £3.99. Eligible next working day delivery is £6.99, or free for orders of £80 and over after discounts. Saturday delivery is £9.99 where available. Postcode restrictions and charges appear at checkout.

When should I order for next working day delivery?

Before 1pm, Monday to Thursday, excluding bank holidays, for eligible addresses and products. Check the estimate at checkout and our Delivery Policy.

Where is my parcel?

Check your dispatch email for tracking. If delayed, missing or incorrectly marked delivered, contact us with the order number. We will investigate with the courier.

Do you deliver overseas?

We currently deliver to UK addresses only.

Can you notify me when stock returns?

Use a stock-alert option where available. Alerts do not reserve stock or guarantee prices.

Returns and quality

Can I return my order?

Request a return within 60 days of delivery under our voluntary policy. Products must be unused, unwashed, unaltered and complete with original packaging and labels. This is not a sleep trial. Statutory cancellation and faulty-goods rights are separate.

Can I open the packaging?

You may carefully open ordinary packaging to inspect colour, fabric and finish. Keep it and avoid washing or sleeping in the products until you decide to keep them.

Who pays return postage?

You pay for change-of-mind returns. For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, contact us first so we can arrange a remedy and cover reasonable return costs where required.

Can I exchange or return sale products?

For another size, colour or fabric, return an eligible item for a refund and place a new order. Sale items have the same returns policy as full-price products.

When will my refund arrive?

We aim to process voluntary refunds within five working days of receiving and checking returns. Statutory refunds follow the deadlines on our Returns and Quality Guarantee page. Banks and payment providers may take additional time to show refunds.

What does your guarantee cover?

Manufacturing defects arising within 12 months of delivery during normal domestic use with correct care. Normal wear, accidents and incorrect care are excluded. Statutory rights are unaffected and may continue beyond the guarantee.

What if an item is faulty?

Email your order details and describe the issue. Photos help if available; original packaging is not required. We will assess it and arrange the appropriate remedy.

Can you help with GreenSecrets orders?

Yes. Include the original order number. Your original purchase terms and statutory rights continue to apply.

Care and support

Should I wash bedding before use?

We recommend washing bed linen before first use according to its label. First check you are happy with its size, colour and feel; washing affects voluntary return eligibility. For duvets and pillows, follow their own instructions rather than assuming washing is needed first.

How should I wash and dry it?

Follow the individual care label. Wash similar colours together. Use bleach or tumble drying only if permitted. Avoid excessive heat and over-drying.

Will cotton crease or shrink?

Cotton can naturally crease and shrink. Follow the care label, remove it promptly after washing and smooth it before drying to  help maintain its appearance and fit.

How do I care for feather and down?

Follow the individual label, air regularly and ensure the product is completely dry before use or storage. Some products need professional cleaning or specialist drying.

How do I contact you?

Email foldandfeel.co.uk@gmail.com, including an order number where relevant.

Duvet and pillow

Which filling should I choose?

Choose Premium Down Alternative for soft, down-like comfort from siliconised  icrofibre clusters.

Choose Luxury Goose Feather & Down if you prefer natural filling, combining the lightness of down with the structure of feathers.

Both collections feature 100% cotton, 233-thread-count casings.

What is inside your natural duvets and pillows?

Our natural duvets contain 50% white goose down and 50% white goose feather.

Our natural pillows contain 85% white goose feather and 15% white goose down, with a three-chamber design that balances cushioning and support.

What is the difference between feather and down?

Down forms soft, airy clusters that provide loft and insulation. Feathers have a central quill and add structure.

Our blends bring these qualities together, with different proportions chosen for duvets and pillows.

How warm are your duvets?

Both Fold & Feel duvet collections are 10.5 tog, offering the same warmth rating with different weights and feels.

Your room temperature and whether you naturally sleep warm or cool will help determine whether 10.5 tog suits you.

What does fill power mean?

Fill power measures how much space a given weight of down filling occupies. A higher result generally means greater loft for its weight.

It is different from tog, which measures thermal resistance. Fill power alone does not tell you how warm a finished duvet will be.

How do your duvets keep their filling evenly spread?

Both collections use baffle-box construction. Internal fabric walls create compartments that help distribute the filling while allowing it room to expand.

Which pillow suits my sleeping position?

Back sleeper? Start with our Medium pillow for a less full feel that supports your head without lifting it too far forward.

Side sleeper? Start with our Firm pillow. Its fuller filling and 5cm gusset provide extra depth to help fill the space between your head and mattress.

Front sleeper? A soft, low-profile pillow is generally a better starting point. Our Medium and Firm options may feel too high.

These are starting points: your build, mattress and preferred pillow height also matter. Aim for your head and neck to rest comfortably in line with your spine.

What makes your three-chamber pillows different?

Our natural pillows have a supportive centre between softer outer chambers, giving you cushioning at the surface with structure underneath.

What sizes do you offer?

Our duvets come in four sizes:

  • Single: 135 × 200cm
  • Double: 200 × 200cm
  • King: 230 × 220cm
  • Super King: 260 × 220cm

All pillows measure 50 × 75cm. Firm pillows have an additional 5cm gusset for depth.

Are your pillows sold as a pair?

Yes. Both our Premium Down Alternative and Luxury Goose Feather & Down pillows are sold in pairs.

Are your duvets and pillows OEKO-TEX® certified?

Our certified products meet OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 requirements for harmful-substance testing. Check the individual product page for the certification details that apply.

Is your goose feather and down responsibly sourced?

Our RDS-certified feather and down meet the Responsible Down Standard’s animal-welfare and traceability requirements, including prohibitions on live plucking and force-feeding.

Do you use recycled filling?

We offer recycled filling in selected products. Check the product page for the material and recycled-content percentage.

Are your products hypoallergenic?

Our hypoallergenic options are identified on their product pages. Hypoallergenic does not mean allergy-free, so check the filling carefully if you have a known sensitivity.

What should I do when my duvet or pillows arrive?

Unpack, gently shake and plump, then allow around 24 hours in a dry, well-ventilated room for the filling to regain its loft. Follow any additional instructions supplied with your product.

How should I wash my duvet or pillows?

Always follow the individual care label. If machine washing is permitted, use the specified programme and temperature, with enough room for the product to move freely.

If professional cleaning is required, choose a cleaner experienced in filled bedding. Airing helps freshen products between cleans but does not replace cleaning when needed.

How should I dry them?

Follow the care label and tumble-dry only where permitted. Make sure the filling is completely dry throughout before using or storing it, even if the outer fabric already feels dry.

How can I keep them feeling their best?

Plump pillows regularly, gently shake your duvet and air both in a dry, well-ventilated space. Use suitable covers or protectors and store your bedding somewhere clean and dry.
